Ein
exquisites Projekt verfolgt die Uni Big Band unter dem Namen Touch Point Jazz. Enrico Pieranunzi
spielt mit der Uni Big Band seine Kompositionen, arrangiert vom Berner Saxophonisten
Matthias Wenger. Zwei Studenten der Uni Bern, die sich zufällig in
der Swiss Jazz School und in einem Uni-Hörsaal begegneten, gründeten
1995 die Uni Big Band. Für die musikalische Leitung engagierten Sie Wolfgang
Pemberger. Er leitet die Proben und Gigs und berät beim Literatureinkauf
und bei Neubesetzungen. Die Uni Big Band wird an privaten und geschäftlichen
Anlässen gebucht und tritt an öffentlichen Veranstaltungen in verschiedensten
Rahmen auf (Montreux Off, FIMU Belfort, l'Oeuf de Jazz Le Mans, Festival Bologna,
Castle Jazz Festival, Ocho Rios Jazz Festival). Eine Spezialität ist, dass
die grosse Band auf kleinsten Club-Bühnen funktioniert, so in der Brasserie
Lorraine und im Restaurant Du Nord in Bern. Big Band Jazz in
Club-Atmosphäre
ist ein erstklassiges Vergnügen für Musiker und Zuhörer.

Le saxophoniste bernois Matthias Wenger a arrangé les pièces pour
cette formation. Deux étudiants se sont rencontrés par hasard
à l’Ecole Suisse de Jazz et dans une salle de cours de l’Université
de Berne, et ont fondé en 1995 l’Uni Big Band. Ils ont choisi, comme
directeur, Wolfgang
Pemberger qui supervise les répétitions
et les concerts, et distille ses conseils lors d’achats de littérature
ou lors de nouveaux engagements. L’Uni Big Band se produit lors de
diverses manifestations, ainsi que lors de fêtes publiques (Festival L’Oeuf
de Jazz Le Mans (F), Universecity Zurich, Funkroots Gaskessel Bern etc.). Un avantage
de l’Uni
Big Band est qu’il nécessite peu de place et
peut très bien se produire dans des endroits comme la Brasserie Lorraine
et le Restaurant Du Nord. Un big band jazz dans une atmosphère de club
est un plaisir
de toute première classe pour tout musicien et toute

Enrico Pieranunzi plays his music with the Uni Big Band, arranged by Matthias
Wenger, a bernese saxophon player. Two students of the University
of Bern, coincidentally meeting at the Swiss Jazz School and an auditorium at
university, founded the Uni Big Band in 1995. Mr. Wolfgang Pemberger was chosen
as the
musical director. Not only he conducts the rehearsals and gigs but
also confers in terms of buying sheet music and selecting instrumentation. The
Uni Big Band can be engaged for private or business happenings and performs at
various events (Festival L’Oeuf de Jazz Le Mans (F), Univercity Zuerich,
Funkroots Gaskessel and so on). Playing at
little pubs on the smallest stages,
such as in Brasserie Lorraine and Restaurant Du Nord in Bern, is one of the specialties
of the Uni Big Band. Big Band Jazz performed in a club-alike atmosphere is pure
